Birds Paintings by Ron Waldeck
The Bird Paintings by Ron Waldeck. I enjoy detail, but let me hasten to add, I want my paintings to look and feel like paintings. Brush marks are clearly visible, paint is applied thick in some areas and thin in others, just as it should be in any genuine art work. Most paintings feature the bird, the background is merely to compliment and highlight it, and I found a lot of people like bird paintings done this way. Others prefer the background to be included, so you will see examples of both. I specialized in birds because this was the subject matter I started with - 30 years ago and I am always drawn back to them, not easy to paint, especially when you attempt to portray "attitude". (Birders will know just what I mean.) I was very fortunate to have lived in Nelspruit for many years, a terrific area for birds and birding and close to the Kruger National Park, things don't get much better than that, except they did because I also had a gallery in Halls Farm Stall.
